FMSB Submits Comment Letter to FASAB—
AGA's Financial
Management Standards Board (FMSB) issued a comment letter
on the proposed statement on
Reporting Comprehensive
Long-Term Fiscal Projections for the U.S. Government.
The FMSB applauded the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory
Board (FASAB) for taking on this difficult project and believes
that it has the potential to be the most important financial
statement there is.

The Academy of Government
Accountability Seeks Qualified Applicants For the Raymond
Einhorn Research Award. The Raymond Einhorn Research
Award is named for a former AGA president and an early leader in
government financial management. Topics for consideration
must be related to government financial management such as
audited financial statements, internal controls, program and
performance management, cost management, budgeting, financial
systems, risk assessment.

accountability. Called, "Your Money, Your Government," the show
will be hosted by AGA Executive Director,

AGA Examines PAR Pilot Program Results
— AGA has issued a report evaluating a possible alternative to
federal Performance and Accountability Reports (PARs) at the
request of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB). OMB
started a pilot program in FY 2007 for agencies that wanted to
report on their performance and accountability in a more concise
form than the lengthy PAR. The report was authored by Harold
I. Steinberg, CGFM, CPA, technical consultant for AGA’s
Certificate of
Excellence in Accountability Reporting Program.
