AGA Leadership Breakfast Series

On December 7, more than 100 public and private sector executives gathered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., to hear a discussion with Dr. Linda Combs, Controller, U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB). AGA and Government Executive magazine hosted this first in a new series of breakfast meetings, Meet the Financial Management Policy-Makers. This event was Dr. Combs’ first public appearance since the November 15 close of federal fiscal year 2005. Dr. Combs’ offered her initial overview of the process and preliminary results of the financial reports submitted to OMB.

December’s issue of Government Executive magazine includes profiles of the Chief Financial Officers across major federal departments and agencies, the fourth in its series on the CFOs. The feature story explores how CFOs play an increasingly important role in business planning and approving program purchases and priorities, despite a recent wave of retirements, which threatens future effectiveness.

Stay tuned for information on the next breakfast after the New Year!
