The Governmental Environment

This Course Is Designed For:

Financial management professionals who are interested in learning more about the government environment in which they work. Participants will examine ways in which government entities differ from private entities, and will discuss interactions between the different levels of government and the people they serve.

Course Topics Include:

  • The organization and structure of government—federal, state, and local
  • Legal and other aspects of the government
  • The governmental financing process—from budget creation to the final audit
  • Financial management responsibilities and skills

You Will Be Able To:

  • Outline concepts and realities of public accountability
  • Understand government organization—at all levels
  • Comprehend interaction between levels of government
  • Act in accordance with the government code of ethics in all situations
