AGA's Initiative on Citizen-Centric Government Reporting - Let Us Know What You Think

AGA's Citizen Centric Government initiative encourages governments to publish an annual state of the government report to its citizens that is no more than four pages long. Such a report would provide understandable information about the financial condition of the government that would ultimately answer the question, "Are we better off today than we were last year?"

We are currently partnering with several governmental entities (pilots) to develop and publish such a report. We do have one completed draft report from the City of Virginia Beach, Virginia. You can view the report and read about the entire initiative in this article that is highlighted in the Winter issue of the AGA Journal of Government Financial Management.

Please let us know what you think about the report. Contact Susan Fritzlen at 800.AGA.7211 with your comments. Over the next six months, AGA will be working with four other governments to produce similar reports. Why not be on the cutting edge and add your government to the list?

With a template now available and a tool kit in the works, we have made it so easy for you to develop the four page report!
