Chapter Best Practices

IDEAS FROM AROUND THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION
Congrats to the Central Pennsylvania Chapter on its successful Seventh Annual AGA golf tournament this month. As the program year kicks off  this month, here's an easy way to encourage and recognize meeting attendance -- the Central Pennsylvania Chapter presents "perfect attendance awards" in the spring to members who attend every meeting during the program year -- great idea!

The Baltimore Chapter also has some neat member awards -- recognizing longstanding membership (those with 20 + and 40+ years of membership) and members with outstanding contributions to the workplace. Also, the chapter has an incredibly deep board of directors (31 directors in addition to 5 officers), excellent job of involving a lot of members! Thanks also to the Baltimore chapter for providing the attached newsletter-ready verbiage on the current CGFM promotion which can earn your chapter 50 BONUS CREDITS (Chapter Recognition Program) per CGFM application submitted from now until November 30th.

The Virginia Peninsula Chapter is centering each of its monthly meetings around a professional development "theme".  The themes are aligned with chapter and AGA National strategic goals, and the speaker topics, newsletter and chapter website will promote monthly theme.

The Richmond Chapter is establishing an Early Careers Scholarship Program to entail 20 free memberships.

If you have information to share or would like more information on any of the above ideas, contact RVP Kelly Stefanko---I'd be happy to put you in touch with the respective chapter presidents to get their "lessons learned" and more details.

To add your chapter or region's best practices, send them to Marie Force.
