August 2006, Volume 4, Issue 3
Please reserve September 11 to attend an important Corporate Partner business meeting to be held in the Skyline Room of the Tower Club in Tyson's Corner, VA. We need every Corporate Partner organization to send at least one representative to this meeting. Every AGA Corporate Partner organization has a seat on the Corporate Partner Advisory Group (CPAG). The mission of the CPAG is to create opportunities to bring industry and government executives together to share ideas and foster communications. It is time for the CPAG to go back to school! The CPAG Program marks its fifth years of operation in 2006. We’d like to now take stock of the program and look ahead into the future – Where Do We Go From Here? What Are We Trying to Accomplish? How Do We Go About Doing It? This meeting will be a hands-on working session surrounding CPAG areas including Research, Programs, Membership and Marketing. We need your input and active involvement at this meeting! This is an opportunity to bring your ideas and expertise to the table and make an important contribution to AGA. Please RSVP to Susan Fritzlen or 800.AGA.7211, ext. 314. Make the most out of your partnership with AGA and get involved.
October 10, 2006 November 7, 2006 December 12, 2006 As a reminder, each event lasts for three hours – 6:15 - 9:15 p.m. One important thing to remember – there is NO selling at these events. The dinners are held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Arlington, VA (Pentagon City Mall). The cost is $160 per participant, which covers cocktails, dinner and valet parking. If you are interested in participating in a dinner, please complete the Dinner Reservation Form and submit it to Susan Fritzlen. Each dinner is limited to 16 Corporate Partners – only one per Corporate Partner organization. Selections for each dinner are based on a first-come, first-served basis AND based on previous attendance at dinners. Once the attendees are selected from the returned Reservation Forms, we will notify those who are confirmed for a seat and those who are placed on the waiting list.
The Technical Committees are charged with the responsibility of planning the educational content and working closely with the AGA National Office staff to put together outstanding conference programs. The Committee determines topics and extends invitations to speakers on behalf of AGA. Your role is the backbone of AGA conferences and is what keeps the quality of the conferences at their highest. Although it involves a great deal of work and commitment, planning each conference is a rewarding experience for all those involved.
Committee members participate in monthly calls and coordinate conference sessions. Both committees will probably have three to four meetings between now and November.
To promote diversity in its make up, each technical committee is limited to one person from any given organization. We also strive to include a diverse mix of individuals from all levels of government and the private sector, including both experienced and new members. Because the committees are limited to approximately 10 individuals for the NLC and 25 individuals for the PDC, we are unable to accept all requests to serve. In case we are unable to include your organization on the committee this time, please let us know if you are interested in serving on the technical committee for another AGA conference. Please e-mail Ada Phillips by Friday, August 18 with the name, job title, mailing address, phone, fax and e-mail of the representative you wish to nominate, as well as their preferred technical committee. Please write “CPAG Committee Request” in the subject of your message.
Yes. AGA is looking for engaging speakers, cutting-edge ideas, and new and innovative presentations relevant to the profession. You may participate on the conference program, without being a member of the Technical Committee. If you have a session you would like to propose, please e-mail Ada Phillips with the title, a brief summary and speaker names to be considered, and we will contact you. Proposals should be submitted by September 30, 2006; notification will be made in December 2006.
