What Keeps a CFO Up At Night?
An AGA/NASACT TRAINING AUDIO CONFERENCE
June 9, 2004
2 CPE Hours Available!

AGA, in conjunction with the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers is pleased to announce the latest in its series of audio conferences addressing timely issues in government financial management.

The topic for this audio conference, “What Keeps a CFO Up At Night?” is a timely topic for all government financial managers.  The CFO is a key provider of the strategic outlook of any organization.  The future focus for financial management is more on performance information and customer support.  Participants can expect a lively discussion on:

  • The Chief Financial Officer's Act vis-à-vis the Clinger-Cohen Act, etc.

  • How to balance and manage relationships with political leadership within the Cabinet agency, within the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the General Accounting Office (GAO), and the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) at the Department of Labor.

  • How to motivate non-performers, how to restrain "loose cannons," how to neutralize "arsonists," how to build and keep momentum, how to recruit and keep good people.

  • How to effect a lasting legacy.

Join Mr. Samuel T. Mok, CGFM, Chief Financial Officer of the U. S. Department of Labor for a stimulating 100 minute discussion on “What Keeps a CFO Up At Night.”  You will also be given an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences during the last 20 minutes of the audio conference.
