AGA Audio Conferences

Education Catalog
AGA is proud
to announce its schedule of the very popular audio conference
series for the 2009–2010 program year. This cost-effective
educational tool is only $249 per phone line and attendance is
unlimited. Just envision a 100-minute radio talk show that
provides two continuing professional education (CPE) hours to
the listeners. Further, since the last 20 minutes of the program
is devoted to call-in questions, the audio conference provides
interaction between the listeners and speakers.
The speakers
are subject matter experts and will provide PowerPoint
presentations or other handouts for the site coordinators to
download and copy, as well as project to a screen, so
participants can follow along during the telecast.
Lastly, CDs of
the program will be available soon after the program is
completed at a reasonable price. As you will see from the
schedule below, AGA is planning 12 audio conferences
this coming program year. But do not be surprised to see other
audio conferences added to the schedule during the year as
emerging issues come to light, like the American Reinvestment
and Recovery Act of 2009 did this spring.
These telecasts
are generally produced in conjunction with the National
Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers
(NASACT) and the Association of Local Government Auditors.
NASACT plans to do four additional audio conferences during the
same period. Thus, you can earn 32 CPE hours from these training
experiences.
The audio
conferences are routinely held on Wednesdays from 2 to 3:50 p.m.
EDT/EST unless otherwise noted. Please check the AGA website
before each audio conference to ensure that there were no
changes.

offers practically monthly audio conferences that provide
chapters and group membership agencies a cost-effective and

How It Works
To register, please provide the
name and contact information for the site coordinator. This
person will receive an e-mail/fax confirmation once registered
and call-in instructions via email approximately one week prior
to the audio conference.
Materials for the Audio
Conference
Once the site coordinator has
registered, he/she will receive a confirmation that has a link
to a website containing speaker biographies, PowerPoint
presentations and CPE materials for download. Speaker materials
should be copied and distributed to participants prior to the
audio conference so they can follow along during the call.
How to Obtain CPE Hours
A
registration confirmation will be sent to each site coordinator
with links to a website where they can download a Sign-In Sheet
to be completed the day of the event and fax back to
AGA. Applicants should fill out a certificate of completion form
and send it back to AGA for processing. Once approved by AGA,
the continuing professional education certificate will be sent
back to the individual.
