AGA Audio Conferences

New! Download AGA's Education Catalog

AGA is proud to announce its schedule of the very popular audio conference series for the 2009–2010 program year. This cost-effective educational tool is only $249 per phone line and attendance is unlimited. Just envision a 100-minute radio talk show that provides two continuing professional education (CPE) hours to the listeners. Further, since the last 20 minutes of the program is devoted to call-in questions, the audio conference provides interaction between the listeners and speakers.

The speakers are subject matter experts and will provide PowerPoint presentations or other handouts for the site coordinators to download and copy, as well as project to a screen, so participants can follow along during the telecast.

Lastly, CDs of the program will be available soon after the program is completed at a reasonable price. As you will see from the schedule below, AGA is planning 12 audio conferences this coming program year. But do not be surprised to see other audio conferences added to the schedule during the year as emerging issues come to light.

These telecasts are generally produced in conjunction with the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers (NASACT) and the Association of Local Government Auditors. NASACT plans to do four additional audio conferences during the same period. Thus, you can earn 32 CPE hours from these training experiences.

The audio conferences are routinely held on Wednesdays from 2 to 3:50 p.m. EDT/EST unless otherwise noted. Please check the AGA website before each audio conference to ensure that there were no changes.

An Exclusive Offer for AGA Chapters and ADVANTAGE Group Member Agencies—Discounted Audio Conferences

In the late spring each year, AGA announces a special offer exclusively for AGA chapters and ADVANTAGE group membership agencies that will enhance a chapter's or agency's education program and save money! For a limited time only, AGA offers its audio conferences in various packages, ranging from a 10 percent discount on the early-bird price offered by the AGA to as much as a whopping 20 percent discount, depending on the number of audio conferences purchased.

This offer is only available to AGA chapters and ADVANTAGE group membership partners. Contact Maria Lucas at 800.AGA.7211, ext. 308, with questions or to register. Download the registration form during the purchase period.

The audio conference series has been a huge success over the past few years. With thousands of participants earning two CPE hours for each program, AGA now offers practically monthly audio conferences that provide chapters and group membership agencies a cost-effective and convenient way to provide quality education for members and others in the government accountability profession. They have also attracted thousands of nonmembers, who the National Office and chapters are contacting to encourage them to join AGA.

Questions about any of the audio conferences? Contact Raymond Harris, CGFM, Director of Chapter Operations and Audio Conference Producer, at 800.AGA.7211, ext. 339.

How It Works
To register, please provide the name and contact information for the site coordinator. This person will receive an e-mail/fax confirmation once registered and call-in instructions via email approximately one week prior to the audio conference.

Materials for the Audio Conference
Once the site coordinator has registered, he/she will receive a confirmation that has a link to a website containing speaker biographies, PowerPoint presentations and CPE materials for download. Speaker materials should be copied and distributed to participants prior to the audio conference so they can follow along during the call.

How to Obtain CPE Hours
A registration confirmation will be sent to each site coordinator with links to a website where they can download a Sign-In Sheet to be completed the day of the event and fax back to AGA. Applicants should fill out a certificate of completion form and send it back to AGA for processing. Once approved by AGA, the continuing professional education certificate will be sent back to the individual.
