XBRL:
Improving Government Communication
Making information portable, so that it can be used anywhere, by
anyone, in any system
Two Offerings Available:

2
CPE Hours Available!
Join your
peers in a free webcast/conference call to learn how data and
business information can be made interactive through an
XML-based standard called XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting
Language). This is NOT a new technology, it’s a new standard in
how information is created, stored, distributed and analyzed
that will affect how you communicate with your peers and how you
evaluate your own performance. XBRL has already been adopted by
the Securities & Exchange Commission and by the Federal
Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) here in the
United States and is more widely adopted by government agencies
and the securities markets in Europe and Asia.
What can
interactive information do for you?
- XBRL makes data
portable, freeing it from legacy systems and from
separate operating platforms
- XBRL allows data from
different systems to be available to anyone, anywhere
- XBRL allows users to
leapfrog – to bypass the system itself and “fix” the
underlying data so that it can work in any system
- XBRL is not just about
financial reporting, its about information reporting
What will you
learn?
-
What
XBRL is and what it can do
-
Problems in reporting today and how interactive data can
help to solve them
-
Who's
supporting XBRL and what is the global environment for this
new standard
-
Why
XBRL versus other standards?
-
XBRL
in action: real-life business cases
-
How
you can get started
Widespread XBRL adoption
by governments worldwide is inevitable – take this opportunity
to learn what you need to know to be effective in your job and
to get ready for a new world in information reporting in just
two short hours.
In addition to the speakers’
commentary, there will be approximately 20 minutes for Q & A so
that the participants can ask the speakers questions and share
their own experiences.
Remember,
there is no limit to attendance per phone/computer site. You can project the webcast onto a big screen
(e.g., using an LCD projector), and/or amplify the conference
call audio, and fill the room with as many participants as you
like!
