Conducting a Privacy Audit

Federal agencies are required to ensure a privacy audit is conducted every two years. Such audits include many requirements such as the Privacy Act of 1974 and the many OMB memorandums offering further guidance and requirements for compliance. This course addresses the various regulatory requirements for a privacy audit and ensures that the participants can either perform the privacy audit or monitor (OIG capacity) the privacy audit for compliance.

The course covers the following topics:

·          The Privacy Act of 1974

·          FISMA

·          OMB Guidance on Information, Privacy, Security and Safeguards
