The
Government Audit:
Basic
Concepts through Resolution
This
course provides an intensive introduction to government
auditing including the basic audit framework, the critical
thinking skills required for performing the audit in
accordance with generally accepted government auditing
standards, and the techniques needed to complete an
effective audit. The core components of the course include
planning the assignment, conducting the survey, completing
field work, report writing, resolution, followup and
closeout.

Applying the
most current Government Auditing Standards

Applying
Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and other
audit-related guidance
·
Identifying
the principles of internal control and applying risk
management concepts when conducting audits

Applying
data-gathering and analytical techniques for compiling
sufficient evidence
·
Preparing for
and conducting interviews and briefings
·
Developing
findings, including condition, criteria, cause, effect and
recommendations
·
Maintaining
good auditor-auditee relationships
