Chapter Education Award

Purpose and Overview
- Each year, AGA presents crystal awards to recognize AGA chapters that have done an outstanding job in providing educational programs to its members and other accountability professionals.
- AGA presents one award per chapter membership grouping.
- The award recognizes chapters that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment providing one or more educational events, which requires significant commitment of time and/or resources.
- Nominations must be made by AGA chapters. AGA chapters are limited to one nomination that must be endorsed by an authorized chapter representative.
- AGA will nationally recognize the recipient(s) at a special awards ceremony during the Annual Professional Development Conference and Exposition.

Criteria and Evaluation
The National Awards Committee will use the following criteria to evaluate and rank nominees. For the current program year, describe in specific terms the work that justifies the nomination. Address each key factor listed below:
- Describe in detail the chapter's marketing program for promoting educational events, including annual planning and advertising. Provide examples of these tools, such as a marketing brochure for the annual program or an advertising flier for a specific event. (20 points)
- Show evidence of a comprehensive, diverse, and innovative educational program. In a table format, list all educational events (including mini-seminars and lunchtime events), specifying the: (a) date of the event, (b) number of continuing professional education (CPE) credits, (c) brief description of the topic (d) speaker(s) and brief description of qualifications, and (e) number of attendees. (60 points)
- For all co-sponsored events with another AGA chapter or professional association (e.g., IIA, ISACA, ACFE, etc.) listed in no. 2 above, identify the co-sponsor and describe in detail the chapter's role/participation in offering these events. (10 points)
- Identify all regional and national education events that the chapter hosted, describing in detail the chapter's role/participation in hosting these events. (10 points)

For use as the formal award citation, succinctly (using two or three sentences) describe the highlights of the accomplishments, particularly impact and results.

How to Prepare and Submit Your Entry
- Please use this form to complete your nomination. Nominators should complete Sections I - IV and submit the original nomination by the deadline. (You do not have to send copies of the package.)

- Please take care to ensure your nomination is a complete document and includes all the information requested. Do not submit several nominations bound by one cover letter that contains contact information - EACH nomination should be a stand-alone document.
- Nominations may be submitted electronically, by fax, by mail, or in person. If submitted electronically, all nominations must be in one file.

- Electronic nominations do not require original signature.
Deadline
- The original nomination package must be received by 5:00 pm Eastern
time on Friday, March 6, 2009.
- Late nominations will be encouraged to resubmit the following year - they will not be returned.
- All applicants will be notified of the National Awards Committee's decision approximately 6 weeks after the deadline.
