Chapter Communicators
2005-2006
Chapter Newsletter Editor & Website Contests
Attention
Chapter Newsletter Editors & Chapter Presidents:
It’s time
again to enter the Chapter Newsletter Editor Contest, which
brings recognition to the chapters that produce the best
newsletters in each chapter group.
Here’s how
to enter: Send copies of your chapter’s October 2005, November
2005 AND February 2006 newsletters to
camara100@cox.net
by April 10, 2006. When all entries are in, we will pick ONE
month out of a hat and all entries from that month will be
judged.
Judges
will be your newsletter editor peers, who will award one
first-place winner and one honorable mention winner in each
chapter group. Judges will not judge their own chapter group.
(If you received a Chapter Newsletter Award last year and would
like to judge this year, send Christina Camara an e-mail at
camara100@cox.net.)
Award
recipients will be announced in May, but the formal
presentations will take place during the 55th Annual
Professional Development Conference & Exposition, set for June
18-21 in San Diego. We will provide the exact date and time of
the awards ceremony when award recipients are notified.
Note:
Submitting copies of your newsletter to the National Office each
month for Chapter Recognition credit DOES NOT count as entering
the contest. Also, no Chapter Recognition points are earned by
entering the contest.
Also, most
chapters have switched to electronic newsletters, and last year
the judges received so few printed newsletters that we decided
to drop the printed newsletter category. If your chapter sends
only printed newsletters, and you wish to enter the contest,
contact me at
camara100@cox.net.
Your chapter will not be excluded.
All
newsletters will be judged on Content (80 Points) and
Presentation (20 Points). To see a list of the 2004-2005 contest
winners, and to read the award criteria, go to:

Chapter Website Competition
Greetings, Chapter
Webmasters!
It’s time again for the
annual chapter website competition to begin. We have a panel
of judges prepared to review your chapter website using the
criteria listed at:
http://www.agacgfm.org/membership/communicators/editortoolkit.aspx. The
Communications Department made a few slight changes to the
listed criteria, so be sure to take a look to make sure that
your site has the appropriate polish and shine.
All working chapter
websites will be judged during the week of April 10. If your
site happens to go down during this time period, please be
sure to send an email to Jennifer Curtin at
jcurtin@agacgfm.org, or call 800.242.7211, ext. 340.
The competition judges will
be accessing your sites using the chapter listing found at:
http://www.agacgfm.org/membership/localchapters/chapterlist.aspx.
Please be sure to look at your chapter’s information to make
sure that we have the most up-to-date version.
If you have any questions
about the criteria or about the competition in general,
please contact Jennifer Curtin.
Good luck!
