Highlights
Current Membership
Numbers
The total membership as of Sept. 30 stood at 13,121
(compared to 13,043 at the same time last year). This number includes a
total of 1,056 new members since April 1(compared to 903 at the same
time last year).
The GAR Report is a monthly summary of membership numbers by
chapter. In the Chapter Recognition Program, up to 3,000 credits are
available in the Membership Section in the areas of Base Growth, New
Member Acquisition and Retention.
The GAR lists chapters by size (Group A = 300 or more
members; Group B = 150-299 members, etc.). We also publish a GAR by
region. It may be useful to see how individual regions compare.
Don’t remember what the columns and numbers mean? Read a detailed explanation of the GAR Report.

Welcome to the AGA
Insider!
The AGA Insider is formerly called the Monthly Membership
Update and is distributed to chapter and national leaders on a monthly
basis.
We asked and you answered! A huge “thank you” goes
out to the AGA membership for the many suggestions we received for our
“Name the Newsletter” contest. The winning name was
submitted by Christina Lilly, CGFM, a member of AGA's Baltimore
Chapter. Congratulations Christina!
CGFM Chapter
Promotion
Individuals who submit a CGFM application from
Sept. 1 – Nov. 30, 2006 and quote the chapter promotion will
receive a $20 rebate. The complete CGFM application must be
received at AGA by Nov. 30 and include the promotional phrase:
"CGFM chapter promotion - [name of your chapter]" at the
bottom of the form. Bonus: Every chapter listed on the
application will receive 50 Chapter Recognition Program bonus credits
per application; the chapter that encouraged the most applications
submitted in this period will receive $20 X the number of applications
that listed that particular chapter.

Chapter Recruitment
Scholarships—Deadline to Request Funds
Approaching!
If your chapter would like to request recruitment funds, please
send an e-mail request by Oct. 31 to Susan Fritzlen at sfritzlen@agacgfm.org. Funds
will be dispersed immediately to your chapter. Then, it is up to the
chapter to hold the recruiting event(s) before Feb. 1, 2007. Once you
have completed your activity, report back on how your chapter used the
funds. We’ll compile the information and share it with all
chapters. We hope to end up with a large list of recruitment best
practices!
Looking for Prospects? Contact Susan Fritzlen
for a list of AGA audio conference nonmember participants—we have
more than 2,300 nonmember names!
AGA’s 2006-2007 Member-Get-A-Member
Campaign (MGAM)—Reach for the Stars
Reach for the Rising Stars and You Could Be a
Star in Nashville!
That’s right, recruit new members into AGA this
program year and you could win a free trip (round trip airfare and
registration) to AGA’s 2007 Professional Development Conference
& Exposition in Nashville, TN, set for June 24-27.
This year we are focusing on recruiting the rising
stars—professionals with less than three years of career
experience. Finding and developing AGA leaders of tomorrow is very
important to AGA’s future as well as to the future of our
profession. Now is the time to reach out to these
‘up-and-comers’—maybe even think about becoming a
mentor!
