Mortgage fraud, in particular, is on the rise as the nation continues to feel the effect of the housing market collapse. Department of Justice attorneys handle thousands of cases that collectively involve billions of dollars in claims and recoveries in areas ranging from benefit programs and health care to the financial and housing sectors, along with a host of others. This session focuses on how the Departments of Justice and Housing and Urban Development are using civil remedies to combat fraud.

Citizen-Centric Report for the fictional city of Peppersville,
GA. Out of the 23 participating universities, North Carolina
State University and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville
were selected as finalists in this competition. Each team offers
a maximum 25-minute presentation of its case response to a panel
of judges at the NLC. The winning team receives cash prizes and
one free year of AGA membership. Best wishes to both teams!
