AGA has reserved a block of rooms at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. With a spectacular location on the water’s edge, the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina combines a lush resort setting with the practicality of a business hotel. The hotel is located  approximately seven miles from the San Diego International Airport and is a short walk to Seaport Village and the historic Gas lamp District. It’s just a short drive from the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Seaworld, Legoland, Balboa Park, Mission Bay, Coronado Island and so much more.

The room rate is $120 (plus tax) per night for single or double occupancy. The rate of $120 is only guaranteed until May 19, 2006, or until the room block sells out. Reservations received after May 19, or after the room block has been filled, will be made on a space-available basis, and may be subject to higher rates. To make reservations call the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina at

The Marriott requires a credit card for confirming reservations. A check or money order in the amount of one night’s stay ($120 single/double) may also be used to guarantee a room.

Please Note: reservations not cancelled at least two weeks prior to the check-in date will be charged a fee of $120, or one night's stay.

Rail and Bus Service

RAIL DISCOUNTS ON AMTRAK, INCLUDING ACELA EXPRESS!

Amtrak is offering a 10% discount off the lowest available fare to San Diego for travel between June 15 and June 24, 2006. The discounted fare is available for travel on Acela and Metroliner service for all departures seven days a week, except holiday blackouts. Offer is also valid with Sleepers Business Class or First Class seats with payment of the full applicable accommodation charges. This offer is not valid on Auto Train.

Amtrak provides service from San Diego with 11 round-trips per day to Los Angeles, continuing to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, and provides several connections to destinations across the state. The Santa Fe Depot (Amtrak) is located in the heart of downtown San Diego, within walking distance of the Maritime Museum, Contemporary Art Museum, Children’s Museum, Seaport Village, Horton Plaza and the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. Whether you are traveling to San Diego by rail or taking a short trip between San Diego’s three picturesque coastline stations, Amtrak can get you there.

Greyhound offers national bus service to San Diego from virtually any city in the U.S. Offering extremely low fares (compared to other transportation option), Greyhound gives you a quick an economical way to get to the PDC. The Greyhound Bus Station is located in the heart of downtown San Diego, within walking distance to local attractions and the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina.

Car Rental

Ground Transportation

Airport Shuttle Service

 

There are several transportation companies that provide shuttle service from the San Diego International Airport to the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. These are a shared ride service and shuttles may make several stops at other hotels before reaching the PDC hotel.

Upon arrival, visit the Transportation Plaza across from Terminals 1 and 2 via the skybridge and curbside at the commuter terminal. Take the escalator or elevator to the street level, or use the pedestrian crosswalk located outside the Terminal 2 baggage claim area to access the Transportation Plaza. A Transportation Coordinator will place you with the first available shuttle, unless you specify a particular shuttle company.

For your return trip, simply call the shuttle company at least 24 hours prior to departure to make a reservation. You may also have the hotel Concierge Desk help you with your return travel arrangements.

Parking

Parking is available at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina for $4 per hour, or $18 per day. Valet parking is available at a rate of $24 per day. Weather

Business casual attire is appropriate for all conference activities. Since meeting room temperatures vary, we recommend you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions. San Diego’s average high temperature in June is 71° and the average low is 61°. Temperatures may vary from day to day so please dress accordingly.
