AGA has reserved a block of rooms at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis for PDC attendees. This newly renovated contemporary hotel takes luxurious comfort and savvy service to new heights. The atrium is marked by the 50-foot, color-changing sail of Pulse, a cocktail lounge. Delight in Sear, a new restaurant offering fire-inspired cuisine, or enjoy the lively ambiance of High Velocity, a trendy sports bar. Guestrooms boast state-of-the-art technology, unsurpassed conveniences and breathtaking skyline views.

The Peachtree Center location offers an indoor connection to MARTA and is just a few blocks from shopping, dining, entertainment and local attractions, such as the Georgia Aquarium, CNN Center, New World of Coca-Cola®, Philips Arena and Turner Field.

Room rate is $129 (plus tax) for single and double occupancy. Rates are guaranteed until July 6, 2008, or until the block is sold out.

Reservations received after July 6, or the room block has been filled, will be made on a space-available basis, and may be subject to significantly higher rates. We encourage you to make your hotel reservations early, for the best price and availability.

Air Travel

The airport offers more than 2,600 daily flights with direct service to 166 domestic cities and 51 cities in 38 foreign countries.  Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is a hub for Delta Airlines and AirTran Airlines, and is home to 22 other major airlines.

Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) is located 10 miles south of downtown Atlanta, and has the distinction of being the busiest airport in the world. The airport has long been known as a major connecting hub serving numerous destinations around the globe. Eighty percent of the U.S. population lives within a two-hour flight of Atlanta, so no matter where you’re coming from your trip will be quick and easy. 

Please contact the airline or your travel agent to make reservations. There are also many websites that allow you to search for and purchase airline tickets online. Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity are just a few. For the best rates and discounts you should make reservations at least 30 days prior to departure.

Ground Transportation

Attendees can rely on the area's taxi and shuttle services for getting to the conference. Please refer to the information below when planning your trip.

Atlanta Link Airport Shuttle

The Atlanta Link Airport Shuttle operates seven days a week between Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and downtown Atlanta. The shuttle leaves the airport every 15 minutes, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 12 a.m. The cost per person is $16.50 one way and $29 roundtrip.

The Atlanta Link ticketing counter is located in the Ground Transportation Center in the Arrivals Lobby inside the airport as you come up the escalator in the main terminal (before baggage claim). Once you have purchased your ticket and retrieved your luggage, exit through doors S-5 or S-6. Shuttles are located in the middle island.

Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA)

MARTA encompasses the rapid rail system and more than 150 bus routes.

The trains begin service at 5 a.m. and continue until 1 a.m. The fare is $1.75 and it’s only a 20-minute trip to downtown Atlanta. In addition, MARTA offers and "all weekend pass" for $9. All MARTA stations are fully accessible to the physically disabled and elderly passengers; any needed attendants are able to ride at no charge.

·        MARTA has a rail station at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, located at the north end of the airport, near the baggage claim area.

·        The closest MARTA station to the hotel is located in Peachtree Center, which is connected to the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

Taxi Service 

Atlanta has more than 1,500 taxis available to take attendees to and from the hotel and throughout the city. The fare is a flat rate of $30 for one person, with a $2 charge for each additional person.

Parking

Valet parking is available at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis for $24 per day. Unlimited in/out privileges are available for hotel guests only. If you are not a guest at the hotel, you will be charged for each time you enter and exit the garage. Hourly parking is available for local guests at the following rates:

0-2 Hours: $10
2-4 Hours: $15
4-8 Hours: $20

Daily: $24

Weather & Dress

Atlanta’s average high temperature in July is 89 degrees and the average low is 71 degrees. To view the current weather forecast, please visit www.weather.com.

Business casual attire is appropriate for all conference activities. Since meeting room temperatures vary, we recommend that you dress in layers and bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions.

Comfortable walking shoes are a must, as many Atlanta attractions are within four to eight blocks from the hotel.
