Service Efforts and Accomplishments (SEA) Program
Launched January 2003 with grant support
provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation of New York City
The SEA Program encourages regular issuance of high-quality
service efforts and accomplishments (SEA) reports and helps
state and local governments effectively communicate performance
to the public.
|
"These
awards (King County Aims High and King County Department
of Natural Resources and Parks) confirm that we are on
the right track in demonstrating accountability and
transparency in government," said King County Executive
Ron Sims. "Performance measures are one of the best
tools government has for assessing our effectiveness in
delivering vital public services." |

Plugging In - Performance Measures Are Finally Being
Taken Out of the Box and Applied to Agency Plans and
Budgets: Katherine Barrett and Richard Greene, Governing,
March, 2006.
- “Making government more accountable is an ideal that
should inspire every public servant,“ said AGA Executive
Director, Relmond Van Daniker. “This award for excellence
should alert the tax-paying public, Congress, public
interest groups, and other financial management
professionals that state and local government agencies are
strenuously working to make the government more
accountable.“
