Conference Technical Committees: Looking for a Few Good Women and Men!
We are
currently accepting requests from our members to serve on the Technical
Committee for AGA's First Internal Control and Fraud Prevention
Conference to be held September 25-26, 2006 in Atlanta, and our Second
Annual National Performance Management Conference to be held in Chicago
next fall.
The
primary responsibility of the Technical Committee is to develop the
educational program, decide topics and contact potential speakers to
participate in the program.
What is
the time commitment? Committee members participate in monthly meetings
and coordinate conference sessions. Although it involves a great deal of
work and commitment, planning the technical program is a very rewarding
experience for all those involved.
How Will
The Committee Be Selected? To promote diversity in its make up, the
Technical Committee is limited to one person from any given
organization. Please e-mail Ada Phillips, CMP,
aphillips@agacgfm.org,
by Monday, January 2, 2006, with the name, title, mailing address,
phone, fax and e-mail of the organization representative you wish to
nominate for the committee.
Please
note: We strive to include a diverse mix of individuals from all levels
of government and the private sector, including both experienced and new
members. Because these committees are limited to approximately 10
people, we are, unfortunately, unable to accept all requests to serve.
If we
are unable to include your organization on the 2006 committee, please
let us know if you are interested in serving on the technical committee
for our 2007 National Leadership Conference or any other future
technical committees.
Wait!
Can I propose a session without being a member of the Technical
Committee? Yes. AGA is always looking for engaging speakers,
cutting-edge ideas, and new and innovative presentations relevant to the
profession. You may participate on the conference program, without being
a member of the Technical Committee. If you have a session you would
like to propose, please e-mail Ada Phillips,
aphillips@agacgfm.org,
with the topic, a brief summary and any speakers to be considered, and
we will contact you.
