Nominating Committee Releases 2012–2015 Slate of National Officers
AGA's National Nominating Committee has selected its slate of officers to serve on the National Board of Directors for 2012–2015.

As National President-Elect, the Nominating Committee selected Mary E. Peterman, CGFM, CPA, a member of AGA's Virginia Peninsula Chapter and a Past National Treasurer. She is a vice president with Savantage Solutions, having previously held financial management leadership positions in Chesterfield County, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Northampton County, VA, as well as the Transportation Security Administration and U.S. Coast Guard. Known formerly as Mary Lechner, she participated in the development of guidelines for AGA’s Citizen- Centric Reporting certificate program, currently serves on AGA’s Accountability Focus Group and participates as a reviewer for both the Citizen-Centric and SEA Reports. She was actively involved this year in the development of the Virginia Peninsula Chapter’s first Chapter-Centric Report. Her past AGA leadership positions include Virginia Peninsula Chapter President, Mid-Atlantic Regional Vice President, Finance and Budget Committee, PDC Technical Committee, National Executive Committee and National Nominating Committee. She has received a National President’s Award, Platinum Chapter Award and multiple national chapter recognition awards following her term as chapter president.

David A. LeBlanc, CGFM, CFS, a member of AGA's Boston Chapter, was selected as National Treasurer-Elect. He is director of Audits for the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Currently a member of the National Finance and Budget Committee, LeBlanc has served AGA as New England Regional Vice President, Boston Chapter President as well as Vice President of Education and Chair of Community Service. He is currently the Boston Chapter Vice President of Communications, which entails supervising the chapter treasurer and serving as webmaster and newsletter editor. In 2010, he was a recipient of the AGA National Chapter Service Award. He has served on AGA’s National Nominating and Community Service Committees.

As outlined in the Association's bylaws, AGA will accept independent nominations from members via petition until Feb. 1, 2012. At that time, if other candidates are nominated, the Bylaws and Procedures Committee will conduct an election to determine the officers. However, if no other nominations are received, the Nominating Committee's slate will take office effective July 1, 2012.

National President, National Treasurer and Regional Vice Presidents come on board as “elects” effective July 1, 2012, while Senior Vice Presidents come on board in full capacity.
