AGA TODAY

Highlights

The GAR Report is a monthly summary of membership numbers by chapter. In the Chapter Recognition Program, up to 3,000 credits are available in the Membership Section in the areas of Base Growth, New Member Acquisition and Retention.

The GAR lists chapters by size (Group A = 300 or more members; Group B = 150-299 members, etc.). We also publish a GAR by region. It may be useful to see how individual regions compare.

2010 Rally for Retention Campaign In Full Swing
As we are now halfway through May, we are also halfway though AGA’s annual Rally for Retention contest. We are making steady progress bringing in renewals—let’s keep our momentum strong and help our members get their renewals in before May 31.

Lists of members who have not yet renewed were e-mailed to RCs for Membership, chapter presidents and membership chairs at the beginning of the month. Remember that you can get an updated listing at any time by accessing AGA’s Members Only Site. Personal contact is the best way to effectively retain members, so make sure to reach out to everyone on your chapter renewal list. Even if they have just sent in their renewal on their own, they will appreciate the reminder that they are an important part of the AGA family. If you have any questions or need assistance rounding up those renewals, please contact Rodneikka Scott

Fabulous AGA prizes are at stake. Chapters that get half or more of their members who haven’t yet renewed as of April 30 to renew by May 31 will be eligible for a chance at three complimentary conference registrations. Visit our website for more details on prizes and the 2010 Rally for Retention Campaign.

PDC Community Service Raffle and Silent Auction
AGA is proud to once again sponsor the National Community Service Raffle and Silent Auction. During the PDC, we’ll be selling raffle tickets and hosting a silent auction for great prizes such as gift certificates, regional gift baskets, sports memorabilia and lots more. Proceeds will support the AGA National Community Service Fund as well as a charity selected by participants. Chapters are asked to donate prizes (gift baskets, t-shirts, etc.) from their local areas. Contact raffle coordinator Renee Gilman, CGFM, to donate.

Take the CGFM Exams Before the PDC
Don't miss the opportunity to take the CGFM Exams and earn your CGFM before the annual Professional Development Conference (PDC) in Orlando. AGA is offering a two-day Intensive Review Course on Thursday, July 8 and Friday, July 9 and an opportunity to take CGFM Exams on July 10–11. The cost of the course is only $279 for qualified participants, and it offers 18 CPE hours. Special Bonus: The CGFM Exams are offered at no cost to course attendees.

This course is designed as a supplement to previous preparation for the CGFM Exams, so this is a perfect opportunity for those individuals who have already attended GFM training courses or have been preparing by using the CGFM Study Guides. Enrollment is limited and participants must first apply and be accepted into the CGFM Program, so don't delay!

More information and a registration form for this event are available on AGA's website.

Save the Date! AmericaSpeaks: Our Budget, Our Economy
AmericaSpeaks, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to involving citizens in public decision-making, is hosting a National Town Meeting June 26 to discuss the federal budget. “AmericaSpeaks: Our Budget, Our Economy” will bring together thousands of citizens reflecting the political, economic and ethnic diversity of the United States to find common ground on some of the tough budget choices the federal government faces. A live webcast and other technologies will connect participants in dozens of cities. AmericaSpeaks is looking for “community conversation” hosts. Participants in community conversations will watch the webcast, learn about the federal budget, discuss options for reducing the federal deficit in coming years and submit their ideas for inclusion in a report that will be submitted to the White House and Congress. Find out more at USABudgetDiscussion.org/Participate.
