AGA TODAY

Highlights

The GAR Report is a monthly summary of membership numbers by chapter. In the Chapter Recognition Program, up to 3,000 credits are available in the Membership Section in the areas of Base Growth, New Member Acquisition and Retention.

The GAR lists chapters by size (Group A = 300 or more members; Group B = 150-299 members, etc.). We also publish a GAR by region. It may be useful to see how individual regions compare. Don’t remember what the columns and numbers mean? Read a detailed explanation of the GAR Report.

Congratulations!
Congratulations to the Nashville Chapter for winning AGA’s Community Service Photo contest. A tremendous “thank you” goes out to all chapters that participated for their hard work and dedication to the community. Great work!

PD
C Chapter Hotel Scholarships
The 57th Annual Professional Development Conference & Exposition (PDC) is just a few weeks away…are you participating in the chapter hotel scholarship? If so, you are responsible for making your own hotel reservations. In a few weeks, individuals participating in the hotel scholarship program will be asked to provide their confirmation numbers and arrival/departure dates to AGA, so that we may move their room and tax charges to our master account. Please note: All changes must be made to your reservation before sending the confirmation number to AGA. Questions? Please contact Jessica Jones. We hope to see you in July!

NBD to Vote on Definition of “Retired”
At the July 27 National Board of Directors (NBD) meeting, to be held at the 2008 Professional Development Conference in Atlanta, GA, one of the items on the agenda will be a proposal to revise the definition of the Retired member category in the AGA National Bylaws. This action requires a formal vote of the National Board of Directors. This article outlines the background and rationale for the proposed change. Please visit the “NEC Documents” link in Members Only for more information.

Congratulations to the 2008 Rally for Retention Winners!
The cut-off date for 2008-2009 membership renewal has come and gone, but thanks to your hard work, we were able to remind many of our members to renew before they were suspended. This year, several chapters met the goal of retaining 50 percent or more of their members who had not renewed by April 30, 2008, and many, many chapters were close to their goal. The chapters that met their goal include:

  • Central Coast CA Chapter
  • Charleston Chapter
  • Chattanooga Chapter
  • Cincinnati Chapter
  • East Tennessee Chapter
  • Idaho Centennial Chapter
  • Inland Empire Chapter
  • Lake Missoula Chapter
  • Seattle Chapter
  • Southern Wisconsin Chapter
  • Tallahassee Chapter

Out of these, three chapters were selected in a fishbowl drawing for a complimentary meeting registration to PDC 2008, Fraud 2008 or PMC 2008. Our lucky winners are the Idaho Centennial, Southern Wisconsin and Tallahassee Chapters!

A big thank you to ALL chapters that worked so hard to make this year’s Rally for Retention campaign successful. Just remember—it is never too late for a suspended member to be reinstated. If you have any questions, or have a member who would like to renew—please feel free to send them our way!
