Most Chapters Complete Forms for Check Disbursements

The National Office is expediting the transfer of funds for chapters by eliminating checks and depositing monies directly into chapter bank accounts. Thank you to all the chapters that submitted their ACH enrollment forms. AGA has made payments to 65 chapters, but 12 chapters still need to submit information.  Please download and complete the ACH enrollment form and send it to AGA’s Finance Department so AGA can pay chapter dues and recruitment scholarships. Questions? Please contact Pamella Shaw.

Chapter Tax-Exempt Information Needed

Chapters are asked to provide AGA's National Office updated address and contact information so they may be included as a subordinate in our group exemption. Please note that this is to be considered a tax-exempt organization under the 501(c)(3) Section of the Internal Revenue Code. Each chapter is responsible to file an informational return with the IRS (990 or 990-N Postcard, depending on their gross revenues) the 15th day of the fifth month after their fiscal year-end. Please send an e-mail with updated information to Cristina Barbudo. Thank you to those chapters that have already submitted their information.

AGA Membership Department Updates

  • Chapters’ online membership rosters run concurrently with AGA’s database. Since we are continually adding new members and updating information, please download a current roster before any outreach to your members. The new member report now sorts with the most recently added members at the top of the list so they are easier to locate.

  • We will not be issuing membership cards with the next renewal cycle, but you are now able to print a card online by using the member login/password from the AGA home page.

  • Please make sure you get any new membership applications in to AGA National quickly. New members receive information after we have their completed application. Make sure new members don't miss any of their valuable benefits. Also, membership applications must be complete with name, address and e-mail for processing.

  • Remember to join AGA on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter! If your chapter has social networking sites please connect to AGA and we will reciprocate.

CGFM Chapter Promotion

Need an extra incentive to encourage chapter members to apply for the CGFM Program? Here it is: From Sept. 1 until Dec. 31, 2011, we'll give a rebate of $20 for CGFM applications received with the assistance of AGA chapters. Visit AGA’s website for additional information on the special benefits for participating chapters.

Still Time to Submit Chapter-Centric Reports

It’s not too late to submit your Chapter-Centric Report. Submit your chapter's report to Evie Barry and claim 350 Chapter Recognition Program credits. Visit AGA’s Citizen-Centric Reporting site to view completed reports and see how you can use their ideas to help create your report.

Chapter Dues Changes?

If your chapter is thinking about increasing or decreasing its annual dues, please e-mail Jessica Jones with the new amounts before Dec. 15.

Chapters Can Share Educational Costs

Is your chapter interested in sponsoring education seminars, but the cost seems prohibitive? Consider reaching out to other chapters in your area to share training event cost and logistics. If interested, either reach out to chapters in your area directly or contact Kim Jones to see if other chapters in your region are looking for partnership opportunities.

2012 PDC Hotel Scholarships

AGA is pleased to announce that its Chapter Hotel Scholarship program will continue at the next PDC, which takes place July 29-Aug. 1, 2012 at the San Diego Convention Center. The scholarship program covers room and tax for two individuals from each AGA chapter for up to five nights.

Members chosen by their chapter to receive the hotel scholarship are responsible for making their own reservations at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. The PDC conference rate is $133 (plus tax) per night until July 6, or until the room block is sold out. Once a reservation is made, e-mail the confirmation number and arrival/departure dates to Jessica Jones. A separate name must be listed for each confirmation number provided.

To make a reservation, please call the hotel directly at 800.421.1442 and mention you are attending the "AGA PDC" to ensure you receive the discounted rate. Please do not mention the scholarship, as this may cause confusion when trying to book a room. You may also reserve a room online.

If you have any questions regarding the hotel scholarship program, please contact Jessica Jones.
