A Bi-Annual Update on AGA's Partnership for Intergovernmental Management & Accountability

Partnership Releases State-of-the-Art Fraud Prevention ToolKit
Make sure to check out the Partnership’s new Fraud Prevention ToolKit.The ToolKit is a free resource that can help officials at any level of government detect, combat and prevent fraud. Released on Dec. 1, 2011, the free ToolKit contains a comprehensive array of tools, educational materials, PowerPoint Presentations and videos.

Grants Management Assessment Group Launched
Members have been selected for a new Partnership work group that is developing a candidate assessment tool. The tool will help government managers assess candidates for grants management positions. While grants mangers are stewards of $600 billion a year in federal grant dollars, those who hire them often do not have evaluation tools capable of screening candidates for critical competencies across the large array of skills. This new tool will help interviewers accurately assess a candidate’s capabilities. The “Candidate Assessment Tool'' will be completed in early 2012.

Audit Resolution Guide WIns National Award
The Partnership’s Cooperative Audit Resolution and Oversight Initiative (CAROI) guide received the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) 2011 Award for Excellence in the Special Act category. The CAROI guide is based a number of key principles that help resolve audit findings and prevent them from reoccurring. The CIGIE award recognizes special acts that go above and beyond to help improve government performance and accountability. It was awarded to the Partnership on Oct. 18, 2011.

Additional Partnership Resources

The Partnership has developed other tools specifically intended to help states manage subrecipients:

Risk Assessment Monitoring Tool Provides states with a method of assessing subrecipient risk across federal granting authorities.
Financial and Administrative Monitoring Tool Provides state agencies with a guide for establishing subrecipient monitoring programs and should be used in conjunction with the Risk Assessment Monitoring Tool.

All Partnership tools are available online at no cost. For further information, contact Helena Sims, AGA's Director of Intergovernmental Relations.
