Spring 2010—The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act One Year Later: Did It Work?
One year after the Obama Administration passed sweeping legislation designed to jump-start the staggering American economy, we’ll look at whether it worked, where all the money went and how it was accounted for by federal, state and local governments. Writing Deadline: December 1, 2009

Summer 2010—State and Local Government
A look at the economic condition of state and local governments as well as the mark-to-market issue affecting all governments. Mark-to-market accounting sets the value of the financial assets reported on the balance sheet to what they would realistically fetch if sold in the marketplace. Specifically, recognizing that mark-to-market accounting relies heavily on the market as the final arbiter of asset values, given the market liquidity crisis and plunging or frozen asset values, we welcome articles discussing the mark-to-market issue affecting all governments. We’re also interested in articles about “off’ the books” assets and liabilities held by state and local governments. Writing Deadline: March 1, 2010

Fall 2010—AGA @ 60
AGA celebrates its 60th anniversary on September 14, 2010. We’ll take a look at the decade since we marked our golden anniversary and make predictions about what’s ahead for the Association. Writing Deadline: June 1, 2010
