Financial Management Standards Board Seeks Volunteer Members
AGA's Financial
Management Standards Board would like to hear from members who are
interested in serving on the Board. The FSMB is responsible for
monitoring proposed accounting, auditing, and financial reporting
pronouncements on behalf of the AGA. If you are interested in
actively participating in developing accounting and financial
reporting standards and related rules, regulations, policies, and
other pronouncements, this is the committee for you.
The FSMB is responsible
for monitoring proposed accounting, auditing and financial reporting
pronouncements on behalf of AGA. It reviews and responds to all
proposed pronouncements that will significantly affect government
accounting, auditing and financial reporting, including those issued
by the FASAB, FASB, GASB, AICPA, GAO, agencies and other
organizations if the subject matter is of interest to AGA members.
It develops responses in the form of comment letters that reflect
the consensus response of the members.
If you are interested in
actively participating in developing accounting and financial
reporting standards and related rules, regulations, policies and
other pronouncements, this is the committee for you. We need people
who are interested in standards setting and willing to be active in
developing responses. It is vital to ensure that the views of those
affected by auditing and accounting pronouncements are heard during
the standard-setting process. The Board provides an avenue for AGA
members to have their opinions heard by the standards setters.
