AGA Welcomes New Staff

The Finance and Administration Department is pleased to welcome John D. Harris as its new Accounting Manager. He will report to the Director of Finance and Administration once that position is filled. He is responsible for ensuring accurate data entry for the Association's information management system and administering accounting functions. John came to us from Ajilon Finance where he had worked since 1997. Originally from Greenwich, CT, he now lives in Alexandria, VA, with his wife, Sherry Harris. He has three daughters, Jazmyne Lester, 12, Johne’ Harris, 4, and Rachael Harris, 3, and enjoys singing, playing basketball and reading.

The Office of Member Services is pleased to welcome Rica Muhammad as its new Administrative Assistant. She will report to Susan Fritzlen, deputy executive director, and she will be providing administrative support to the Association’s membership program and will serve as a member of the Customer Satisfaction Center team. Previously, Rica worked at the U.S. Department of Defense, Educational Activity Office. She has earned certifications in the fields of cosmetology and real estate. Originally, from Front Royal, VA, she currently resides in Temple Hills, MD.

The Office of the Executive Director is pleased to welcome Rosanna Ortiz as its new Program Assistant. She will report to Lisa Thatcher, director of the CEAR and SEA Programs, and she will be in charge of managing governance programs and serving as the primary liaison to AGA national and regional leaders. She will manage AGA's awards and scholarship programs. Rosanna last worked for the Irrigation Association in Falls Church, VA where she served as their Meetings & Marketing coordinator. She lives in Alexandria, VA, where she enjoys playing softball in her free time. Rosanna graduated from James Madison University with a BBA in Marketing Information Systems and a minor in Spanish.
