Would you like to learn more about the Certified Government Financial
Manager designation? Join us on Wednesday to hear from your colleagues
who have recently earned their CGFM certification and the chair of
Professional Certification Board who will speak about why you should,
and how you can, become a CGFM.

Become part of CGFM Program success! Join AGA CGFM leaders to learn
about the program's accomplishments and to share your own success
stories. We will discuss state and local recognition of the CGFM
certification, new self-study options available to CGFM candidates and
training opportunities for your chapter.
Rutgers University Offers
Scholarship to Earn the CGFM
Rutgers University created a scholarship program for AGA members
interested in earning the CGFM certification. These courses are
available online. Candidates for the scholarship certificate program
should hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
and submit unofficial copies of their transcripts along with a resume
and two letters of recommendation. Deadline is June 15 for the fall 2005
semester.

AGA Announces Recipients of 2005
National Scholarships
Congratulations to the recipients of AGA's 2005 National Scholarships.
Recipients of the full-time and part-time academic scholarships were
rated on their academic success and achievements and their potential to
make a significant contribution to government financial management. The
community service scholarship was awarded this year to one recipient who
demonstrated an outstanding commitment to serving her community. After
reviewing numerous applications AGA's National Awards Committee was
happy to award seven full-time study scholarships, two part-time study
scholarships and one community service scholarship.

AGA Audio Conference
Planned for June 20: Government Contract Auditing Issues
Thousands of participants from
hundreds of government agencies, private firms and colleges have been
tuning into AGA’s audio conference series this spring. Don’t miss out as
AGA, NASACT and N.A.L.G.A. presents this audio conference on Monday,
June 20 from 2 – 3:50 p.m. EDT. Expert speakers will be John
Brennan, CGFM, audit manager, New York State Comptroller’s
Office and Thomas Goodfellow, CPA, TG Associates CPAs,
PLLC, and former contract audit director, New York State Department of
Transportation. Earn 2 CPE hours in the area of accounting and auditing.
The cost is $249 per site (UNLIMITED ATTENDANCE) by June 15; $299
afterward.
