CGFM® Certification

Important Information for New CGFMs

1. CGFM Publicity

AGA recognizes new CGFMs by including their name, state and AGA chapter (if applicable) in a list of new CGFMs on its website. This list also includes the month and year the CGFM was awarded.

If you do not wish to have your name posted on the AGA website in a list of new and/or active CGFMs, please contact us.

2. Updating Contact Information

The CGFM certificate is usually mailed 6–10 weeks after your AGA award letter. If you need to update your address or any other contact information, email us.

3. Becoming a CGFM Mentor

We hope you will choose to become a CGFM mentor to help other individuals reach their goal of earning the CGFM designation. Offer your unique perspective and exam-preparation strategies to guide a CGFM candidate to certification. View the Mentor Form for more information.

4. Sharing Your Feedback

We would love to hear from you about your path to certification and your feedback on the certification process. Please share your thoughts with us in an online survey or by emailing us.

5. Maintaining CGFM Designation

To retain the CGFM certification, all CGFMs must adhere to AGA’s Code of Ethics. In addition, to continue using the CGFM designation after their name, CGFMs must be in an active status. See Maintaining Certification for more information, including the CPE Requirements.

6. CGFM Apparel

Show your CGFM pride by wearing apparel with a CGFM logo. You can order yours at the CGFM store.

7. AGA Membership

While AGA membership is not required for CGFM, it provides a number of benefits, including networking opportunities and discounted registration fees for continuing professional education events. CGFMs who are also AGA members pay a reduced fee for their annual CGFM renewal.
