Happy New Year, AGA Charleston!

The 3rd quarter is upon us and we are excited to see what this new calendar year holds for us. We wrapped up the first two quarters of our program year with our 4th Annual AGA Charleston SC Chapter Professional Development Training at Charleston Southern University. Thank you to all of our members who played an instrumental role in ensuring that the event was a success. We had 135 attendees at this year’s event! AGA National has already announced its dates and location for the 2020 AGA National PDT—July 19-22, 2020 in DALLAS, TX! Based off of the fabulous time I had last year in New Orleans, I can’t imagine what AGA National has in store for us in Dallas! Please start looking at your calendars and plan on attending—all of our members should strive to attend at least one AGA National PDT—you will be blown away!

Also-Save the Date! Our 5th Annual AGA Charleston SC Chapter PDT will be on Thursday, November 19th, 2020 at Charleston Southern University!

While our activities have been somewhat quiet this year, I’m thrilled to say that our membership is growing! Our Chapter has had 10 new members join since this new program year started! That is significant growth for our Chapter. We still have a vacancy for the Director of Membership on our Chapter Executive Committee. If you are interested in recruiting new members and helping to grow our Chapter, please let me know. I would love for one (or more!) individual(s) to have a sole focus on recruiting, engaging and recognizing our members.

Speaking of membership, renewals for 2020-2021 are now available. Please log into the My AGA site and renew your AGA membership and/or CGFM certification. Also, take the time to ensure your contact information is up to date as well.

Stay tuned for upcoming Chapter events to include our mini-PDT (members only), dinner at Ms. Rose’s and an opportunity to sponsor and/or volunteer for the Carolina Youth Development Center’s 20th Annual Golf Tournament at Bull’s Bay in Awendaw, SC.

Lastly, because it is the new year---let’s make a resolution together—let’s resolve too all be more involved with the Chapter. There are a few key vacancies on our Chapter Executive Committee-Director of Membership, Director of Events and Social Media…so we need your help to keep things alive and moving! If you have an organization that is near and dear to your heart---share that with us so we can find ways to show support towards its audience. Hear of a speaker, networking or training event with another organization or school? Let us know so we can attend or partner together! Wanna get a few folks together for a local basketball, football or hockey game? Tell us—let’s plan something!
