Julie Starkweather

  1. How long have you been an AGA member? I have been a member of AGA since 2008.
  2. Where do you work and what do you do? I am a Business Analyst with the Systems Coordination and Implementation (SCI) team.
  3. Are you a CGFM? Not yet.
  4. If so, what benefits have you seen from being a CGFM? If not, why would you encourage someone else to pursue it? The CGFM certification is the “gold standard” for government financial professionals. It signifies a thorough knowledge of government financial management practices at all levels, as well as a commitment to the profession.
  5. What positions have you held in Charleston AGA? I have had the honor of serving as the Chapter Treasurer.
  6. What is the most benefit you receive from being a member…how has it helped you in your job? The ability to network with other professionals and keep up to date with the latest government initiatives is invaluable. This has helped me identify and prepare for changes that impact our operations at Global Financial Services Charleston.
  7. Anything else you would like us to know? AGA is fun; it is great hanging out with other members.
