Presidents Message - September 2018

President’s Message – September 2018

Welcome to our AGA Cleveland Chapter!

Although our new year started July, I wanted to welcome everyone to another exciting year and to thank everyone for their support and participation in our events. I especially want to thank the past-year officers and volunteers who supported our Chapter in organizing and holding the various events and ensuring our reporting requirements were met. Our annual April Professional Development Training (PDT) event was a huge success and plans are underway with the Association of Military Comptrollers (ASMC) for next year’s event. As recognition for their efforts, our Chapter was presented a Platinum Award at the Annual AGA (PDT) in Orlando; Tony Harris was recognized for his work on the Citizen Centric Report which received a Certificate of Excellence; and Lou Ockunzzi was presented a Platinum Award for his work as the Regional Vice President. These are just a few examples of what our Chapter has achieved.

Our Chapter is diligently working on plans for the coming year. We held the AGA/ASMC annual picnic in August and are finalizing events for the fall and winter time-frame. Spring is just around the corner and we hope 2019 will be just as great as this year.

Please check back often as we will be updating the events page with some new gatherings and events. We’re working to expand the community outreach and participation so we are able to give back to the communities we love. In addition to the volunteer activities, you’ll also start seeing opportunities to join in area walks/runs benefitting a cause as a registered AGA Cleveland Chapter Team or simply join a group.

As always, if you would like to become more involved, please reach out to me, our Director of Membership, John Kanya, or any of the other officers or members. Everyone has ideas and it’s these that make our Chapter great!

Sincerely,

Jana Sjoquist
