  • Karly Torii, David Bean, and Pamela Young (2021 GPAW)Short Bio: Karly Torii was born and raised in Kapolei, Hawaii. She is pursuing her Master of Accounting degree with a concentration in Data Analytics at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Currently in the midst of taking the CPA exam, she hopes to pass all four sections of the CPA exam by the time she graduates in the fall of 2022 and to obtain her CPA license shortly after. She also strives to one day work for either the State of Hawaii or City and County of Honolulu.

AGA Hawaii raises over $1,200 for Hawaii Foodbank

Mahalo to everyone for participating in our virtual food drive for Hawaii Foodbank! Hawaii Foodbank has reached out and thanked us for helping to raise over $1,200, which is enough to provide food for 3,000 meals! 

January 2021 Virtual Luncheon Highlights

Stan Lum, CPA, spoke at the January 27, 2021 webinar on the topic of “2021 Tax Updates (Secure Act, Updated Cares Act).” Stan covered changes to unemployment assistance under the Cares Act. He also went over the special rules for use of retirement funds. Lastly, he discussed the Biden Tax Plan.  See our newsletter for more information.

November 2020 Virtual Luncheon Highlights

Dr. Eugene Tian, the Chief State Economist at the Hawaii State Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), addressed the Hawaii Chapter on COVID-19’s Effect on Hawaii’s Economic Conditions at a virtual lunch time meeting on November 23, 2020. For more information on the event, check out our Kukala Newsletter.
