PDT Awards of Distinction

These awards are presented annually at AGA’s Professional Development Training (PDT) recognize individuals and chapters for their contributions to AGA and the government financial management community.

Nominations will be open in January 2019 and are due March 31, 2019.

Robert W. King Memorial Award

any AGA member not serving on NEC or an employee of AGA

The award recognizes superior service that enhanced AGA’s national prestige and stature.

Einhorn-Gary Award

AGA member or organization

The award recognizes an AGA member or an organization that has, over a sustained period of time, made major contributions to advancing government accountability at the federal, state, and/or local level. Nominees must have a record of active participation in AGA activities and/or programs at the chapter and national level.

Frank Greathouse Distinguished Leadership Award

any government employee

The award recognizes government employees who have demonstrated sustained outstanding leadership and notable contributions to financial management, and who have encouraged increased interest, growth, development, and distinctive leadership in the field of financial management.

Achievement of the Year Award

anyone employed in government service at time work being recognized was performed

The award recognizes leadership or outstanding achievement in developing, implementing, and improving financial management in government service in the past year.

Educator Award

anyone

The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the education and training of government financial managers.

Cornelius E. Tierney/EY Research Award

anyone with at least 15 years of service

The award recognizes individuals who throughout their careers (minimum of 15 years) have made continuous contributions to governmental financial management by their direct participation in research activities and/or through their encouragement and support of others engaged in government financial management research.

International Achievement Award

anyone employed in government service at time work being recognized was performed

The award recognizes leadership or outstanding achievement in international government financial management.

Emerging Leader Award of Excellence

anyone within 5-10 years of experience within the government financial management industry

The award recognizes government financial managers for notable contributions toward excellence in financial management.

Relmond P. Van Daniker Government Transparency Award

any government

The award recognizes outstanding reporting by a government in the past year through the generation of a report, website, dashboard, or information display, etc., for the public and/or government officials. Reports, communications, information displays, websites, or presentations produced by state, local, or federal government units may be nominated to highlight great examples of transparency.

Chapter Accountability and Transparency Award

AGA chapter

The award recognizes AGA chapters that have done an outstanding job in promoting AGA’s accountability and transparency programs to their chapter members and the government financial community.

Chapter Education Award

AGA chapter

The award honors AGA chapters that have done an outstanding job in providing education programs to its members and other accountability professionals.

Community Service Award

AGA chapter

The award honors chapters that have done an outstanding job in community service projects.

Chapter CGFM Award

AGA chapter

The award recognizes AGA chapters that have done an outstanding job in promoting the CGFM Program and its members, other accountability professionals, and their community.
