Session 3 (10:10AM – 11:00AM) - New Financial Reporting Model for Governments

Description: It’s coming, the new financial reporting model for governments.  In this presentation we will take a look at the model that is likely to effect every government accountant in coming years.

Speaker: State of Arizona Treasurer's Office, Mark Swenson
Description:  This session  will provide an update on how the State Treasurer's Office investments are doing, what the projections are for the future, provide any new or proposed legislative changes impacting the Treasurer's Office, and discuss how the Education Land Trust for Schools funding is doing.


Session 6 (1:30PM – 2:45 PM) - GASB & AICPA Updates
Speaker: Arizona Auditor General's Office, Michael Stelpstra, CPA
Description: The GASB and AICPA have been busy this year issuing many new accounting, auditing, and attestation standards and a revised ethics interpretation for government auditors.  This session will review the new guidance along with other standards Arizona governments will need to implement in fiscal years 2020 and 2021. We will also look at other projects the GASB and AICPA are working on.

 

Session 7 (3:00PM – 4:15 PM)  - Panel Discussion on the Challenges and Opportunities in Government Finance

Description:   Discussion with leaders in the government finance community about some of the challenges and opportunities facing their organizations and how they are coming up with unique solutions, big or small, to address some of these issues.  This will provide a candid discussion, among organizations, so that we can learn from each other on what works and what does not.
