Community Services Logo, “Helping Hands,” Compliment of Taylor Leong
The AGA San Francisco Chapter encourages its members to support their communities by volunteering. The logo on the left represents the involvement of the AGA SF Chapter in connecting members to their local communities through caring hearts. Throughout the year the chapter provides its members opportunities to come together and participate in community service events such as park restoration days, public television pledge drives, and holiday toy drives. We believe you'll find it satisfying doing useful work that benefits those less fortunate.
We recognize that busy schedules and geographic distance make it difficult for everyone to join us in a community service event. So to stimulate and facilitate those interested in volunteering on something closer to home or causes you personally support, we have included several links to volunteer referral agencies for the five bay area counties. These links will provide information as to how and where your local community needs volunteers. These opportunities include just about anything from repairing computers to picking fruit to making sandwiches. Time commitments vary from a few hours to as much as time as you have available.

Community Service Updates

In December 2013, Sandra Gan, Co-Director of Community Service, her senior manager, and her co-workers volunteered at the San Francisco Project Open Hand. They showed off their efficiency by chopping carrots and celeries in record time and they went home with all their fingers attached to their hands! Kidding aside, they went through many pairs of gloves and it was a wonderful team-building exercise. Feeling good and energized, they promised to do it again and they definitely recommended it.
Let us know of your volunteer activities, send us pictures for our newsletter, and let us know if we can help. For further information, please contact our Community Services Directors Sandra Gan and Connie Tan at (415) 865-8926 and (510) 637-1470 respectively or email them at
