We are hosting our first training event of AGA’s 2021-2022 program year.  Please see this flyer for information on the Tuesday, September 21, 2021 luncheon meeting of the Seattle Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA).  The session will include a presentation and discussion featuring a new AGA Journal article (view it here) addressing the need for local governments to report Accurate, Concise and Timely (ACT) to the public with Citizen Centric Reports, and how to influence adoption by your local government or agency. “Now is the Time to A-C-T,” authors & contributors include K. Smith (our speaker), D. Sandoval, A. Ebberts and M. Langas Miller, published in the Summer 2021 Vol 70, No 2 edition of the Journal of Government Financial Management.

Participants can earn 1 hour of Continuing Professional Education (CPE).  The cost is $0 (free) for both AGA Seattle Chapter members and non-members.  Feel free to forward this email to others who might be interested.  AGA membership is not required.  We do hope those attending will complete the session survey afterward.

Please register using the following link:  https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/4710584208420203280 .  Upon registering, you will receive an email with information on how to access the virtual training (we are using the GoToWebinar platform for this training).  There is a phone-in option for audio.  Alertness checks with polling questions will be used to verify participation for CPE credit.  We welcome participants who can only join by phone; however, CPE cannot be awarded unless the alertness polling is completed.

Please join us before and/or after the CPE session for socializing and additional discussion.  Our timeline for the event:

11:45 AM (Pacific time) is a social period for announcements and connecting.
12:00 – 12:50 PM is the presentation and discussion period and is 1 CPE.
12:51 – 1:05 PM is a social period to continue topic discussion and connecting. (Connecting can include questions for the AGA Seattle Board.)

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the event or the technology for it.  We look forward to “seeing” you at the event (and don’t worry…the only people on video will be the presenters and organizers)!
