Advancing Goverment Accountability Award

Purpose and Overview

  • Each year, the AGA Tallahassee Chapter will present one award to formally recognize major contributions to advancing government accountability.
  • Any active or former member of the AGA Tallahassee Chapter that has, over a sustained period of time, made major contributions to advancing government accountability at the national, state or local level is eligible for the award.
  • Individuals, governmental units and Tallahassee Chapter Committees may make nominations. Governmental units and Tallahassee Chapter Committees are each limited to one nomination that must be submitted by an authorized representative.
  • AGA Tallahassee Chapter will formally recognize the recipient at a special awards ceremony during the Chapter’s last luncheon in June.

II. Criteria & Evaluation

Major contributions to advancing government accountability will be considered on a broad basis of acts, achievements or service that advanced government accountability and enhanced AGA Tallahassee Chapter’s prestige and stature.  The Chapter’s Awards Committee will use the  following criteria to evaluate nominees. Therefore, nominations should describe in specific terms the work or contribution that justifies the nomination, including:

  1. Major contributions to advancing government accountability.

  2. Information regarding active participation in AGA activities/programs over a sustained period of time at the chapter and/or national level which have enhanced the Tallahassee Chapter’s prestige and stature.

  3. Any other pertinent background information that will assist in evaluating the nominee’s achievements.

  • Nominations must be received no later than May 17, 2019.
  • The award recipient and all award nominators will be notified of the Awards Committee’s decision no later than February 1, 2019.
  • The award recipient will be asked to provide biographical information, including education and employment highlights, to be used during the presentation.Please use this form to submit your nomination.
  • Please ensure that your nomination includes all of the information requested.  Each nomination should be submitted separately, please do not bundle multiple nominations into one package.
