About Our Chapter

A Message from the President:

Dear Members and Friends,

I am excited about my role as President of the AGA Trenton Chapter for the 2017-2018 program year.  This year, as most of you know, our chapter will be celebrating it’s 40th year so I know this year will be a memorable year, not only historically but moving into the future over the next 40 years!  I am honored and privileged to be the successor of the many past Presidents and Chapter Board members who have worked diligently dedicating their personal time and resources building the AGA – Trenton Chapter into the successful organization it has become.  I want thank each and every one of you for your work efforts! One of my goals is to continue to build on these countless efforts, as well as to improve the success of this Chapter.

Collaboration, teamwork and leadership are the key to success in any organization and are the primary reasons that have made this chapter the strong, successful organization it is today.  I plan to continue this legacy with the continued help from current e-board, members and friends.

During the new program year, we will continue to work as a team to meet our objectives and set new goals.  Such goals will be to continue to grow Chapter membership, by to continuing to recruit quality members, enhance educational opportunities, and maintain service activities & social events.

Quality educational training and networking opportunities is important.  We will to continue to work to improve this valuable benefit for our members by seeking new and intriguing topics to be presented at our educational seminars and dinner meetings during this upcoming program year.  We welcome feedback to help guide us to accomplishing our goals and successful programs.

Through our membership scholarship program, we continue to recruit quality candidates who become active members of the chapter.  Through participation in organizational activities and attendance at meetings, these new members become instantly engaged in the chapter and provide bright ideas and new perspectives to our organization.

The chapter will continue it’s efforts to promote the value of the CGFM (Certified Government Financial Manager) designation and what it brings to government and public sector employment as well as our organization.  To encourage becoming CGFM certified, we will continue to assist, candidates in conjunction with National efforts, in providing the information and resources needed to successfully achieve this certification.

Motivated to keep up with technology, we are constantly updating our website and Facebook pages to keep members up to date on Chapter and National events. We plan to continue to promote and improve our electronic payment process through our website for all events.

My experiences with AGA have given me the opportunity to revisit and evaluate my professional and personal careers.  Even in retirement, I am encouraged and invigorated by the opportunities this organization creates.  The educational, networking, and service opportunities the AGA has given me is invaluable and proves the Chapter’s commitment and value it brings to its members.

Our Chapter is not just a professional association for accountants; it is a network of current and former financial professionals as well as friends.  More importantly, this organization is like family with people working together to accomplish similar goals while working through differences all for the betterment of the chapter.  The members are there when you need them and together we all support each other and encourage personal growth and professional enrichment. As your president for the 2017-2018 year, I look forward to working with you, the members, in to accomplish the goals and objectives of this great chapter.
