Qualifications Needed for National and Regional Leadership

National President-Elect

To serve as the National President-Elect, a nominee should:
  • be an AGA member in good standing;
  • have a professional background commensurate with the position;
  • have served as a voting member of the National Executive Committee, or as Regional Vice President or as an officer or director in a chapter for at least one complete year at the date of nomination; and
  • have served as a voting member on the National Board of Directors for one (1) complete year at the date of nomination.
  • Individuals serving in this position may not serve concurrently in any other elective office of the association.

National Treasurer-Elect

To serve as the National Treasurer-Elect, a nominee should:
  • be an AGA member in good standing;
  • have a professional background commensurate with the position; and
  • have served as any of the following for at least one complete year as of the date of nomination: (a) a member of the Finance and Budget Committee, (b) a member of the National Executive Committee, (c) a Regional Vice President or (d) an officer or director of an AGA chapter.
  • Individuals serving in this position may not serve concurrently in any other elective office of the association.

Senior Vice President for Regional Services — Section I or IV

To serve as a Senior Vice President for Regional Services, a nominee should:
  • be an AGA member in good standing;
  • have a professional background commensurate with the position; and
  • have held elective office as Regional Vice President in your section for at least one complete year at the date of nomination.
  • Individuals serving in this position may not serve concurrently in any other elective office of the association.

Senior Vice President At-Large

To serve as a Senior Vice President At-Large, a nominee should:
  • be an AGA member in good standing;
  • have a professional background commensurate with the position; and
  • have held elective office as Regional Vice President in Section or have served as an executive in federal, state, or local governments, academia or the private sector.
  • Individuals serving in this position may not serve concurrently in any other elective office of the association.

Regional Vice Presidents-Elect

To serve as a Regional Vice President-Elect, a nominee should:
  • be an AGA member in good standing;
  • have a professional background commensurate with the position; and
  • have held elective office as an officer or director in a chapter for at least one complete year as of the date of nomination.
