Welcome to the PDT 2022!

We're excited to welcome back PDT 2022 in-person! While the PDT 2022 agenda is in progress, please click on the PDT 2021 agenda below.

AGA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. National Registry of CPE Sponsor ID: 104201.

AGA’s Professional Development Training (PDT) brings together a broad audience of more than 2,000 federal, state and local government financial professionals, including federal, state and local government CFOs, inspectors general, accountants, auditors as well as financial professionals from the private sector.

PDT offers educational sessions over three days of training. Participants can earn up to 24 hours of NASBA-approved continuing professional education (CPE) credits. Participants gain skills and knowledge toward more effective leadership, performance in a cost-constrained environment, solutions to shared challenges, and best practices. Join us to learn from top government financial management professionals and industry experts.

Three Reasons You Should Attend:

  1. Earn up to 24 CPEs. Increase your overall body of knowledge  and improve your job effectiveness through new skills and techniques.

  2. Stay on the cutting edge. Top-notch speakers from federal, state and local government, academia and the private sector will keep you on top of your game with key information and educational experiences.

  3. Network and connect. Through the online platform, engage with industry experts and government financial management colleagues who face the same or similar issues on the job. Exchange ideas to bring back to your organization and build the profession.

What Attendees Said About The First Ever 100% Virtual PDT 2021:

"It was great to have gained access to subject matter experts from a wide variety of accounting and budget backgrounds. We have a strong community of professional at the Federal and State levels, and it was helpful to hear their individual constraints and successes. Training was both fun and interactive. I look forward to the PDT 2022. Great job PDT team and speakers!!" — Michelle Waller, Office of Inspector General

"PDT covers a wide range of important topics that keep me up-to-date in the financial management world. With all the great top notch speakers who share their best practices and insights, PDT is THE training that financial management must attend!" — Thomas Chin - Washington, DC Chapter

"The PDT is always such a great educational opportunity. Every year, it is full of a variety of topics / lines of business. It exposes you to innovation and new ideas, highlights issues currently being addressed in the financial community, how politics, federal regulations and guidelines are impacting all levels of government, and personal development opportunties. You can network with individuals on the leading edge, with people who are experiencing similar challenges, and pass on what you have learned to others." —  Carol McFarland, State of Oklahoma

"My name is Zia Maqsood, and I am a University of Baltimore student. We will start AGA on our campus next semester, and I am honored to be the first president. I am also a federal audit intern at KPMG. I honestly loved the whole three-day event. I am looking forward to learning more from AGA mentors, and I will do my best to encourage my fellow students to be a part of such a great organization." — PDT2021 Attendee

"AGA's PDT 2021 was so well planned, and the best professional development I've been a part of. The speakers were very well versed in their topics, and were extremely engaging in the panels and discussions held. The topics spanned all parts of accounting and finance, and had something that peaked all my interests. I was able to refresh my knowledge on certain topics, gain knowledge on new topics, and see how other agencies are dealing with similar situations of my own agency. It was great to be able to speak and interact with other professionals in this area. Highly recommend any of AGA's events." —  Lisa Weber DLA Troop Support
