Join us on an exciting road trip around the country on the Road to PDT 2020! On our way to Dallas, we'll be visiting several of our chapters and learning about the diverse sights, sounds, and tastes that make up our national membership. Buckle up and hang on - here we go!


In a few words, tell us about your chapter.
The MOV AGA is a small chapter located in Parkersburg, West Virginia, that was formed in 2008 with 10 people and now has more than 60 members — with 36 CGFM certified members. We take pride in our educational offerings, providing more than 40 CPEs a year and are involved in a variety of community service projects.

What's a quirky fact about Mid-Ohio Valley that others probably don't know?
In 2008, Parkersburg, finished in second place behind Valdosta, Georgia, in ESPN’s TitleTown voting. The contest asked fans from around the country to select cities to be in the running for the moniker of TitleTown, USA. Parkersburg made it to the national round of voting and received more final votes than cities like Green Bay, Wisconsin, New York City and Boston.

What tourist attraction would you recommend to out-of-towner?

  • Blennerhassett Island is the Ohio River's most famous island, settled by Harman and Margaret Blennerhassett in 1789.
  • Campus Martius Museum was built on the site of the original stockade, built by the Ohio Company between 1788–1791.
  • Ohio River Museum features exhibits recounting the history of the Ohio River and the many types of boats that have been transporting people and cargo for hundreds of years.
