The Fraud Reduction and Data Analytics Act of 2015 requires agencies to establish and implement internal controls to manage their fraud risks. The legislation also directs OMB to develop guidelines for agencies in fraud risk management controls and share best practices in fraud risk management and data analytics. In the face of the continuous evolution and an increased pace and volume of fraud threats, federal fraud teams find themselves challenged by data access issues, data quality, ineffective triage and learning models, and outdated to non-existent intelligence. Compounding these challenges is a lack of access to and knowledge of technology in investigative and compliance organizations.

This session summarizes the recommended steps for agencies to leverage data analytics and technology as a key component in their anti-fraud strategy.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to address the following key questions in implementing anti-fraud strategy:

  1. How is the landscape of fraud changing?
  2. What are the key attributes of a successful fraud analytics program?
  3. How can I get started in developing a fraud analytics program?
