From Chapter President Jamie Lenore Chambers:

Many things have changed since we have started this year.  Social distancing, difficulty finding items at the store, working from home, and event cancellations has temporarily become part of our norm.  Sadly, some people have lost love ones through all of this.  Our heart goes out to everyone that is struggling.

Many are learning to work from home.  Some people I have spoken with love it, while others can’t wait for things to get back to normal.  As with anything, today’s events will change our future.  Our old normal may never completely be the same.  We are all learning to use technology better and learning that we can be proficient with telecommuting.  Now more than ever, it is important to be flexible and adaptable.

At the Board, we are also learning to be flexible and adaptable.  We were excited about the Spring Conference and excited about the speaker lineup.  We struggled with the decision to cancel the event for several reasons.  Our main concern with canceling was that we realize that many members rely on the event for their required CPE.  Therefore, once things get back to “normal”, our Chapter tentatively plans to have CPE luncheons with one hour of CPE every month until the end of the year to help members obtain their required amount of CPE.

We will soon be sending out a membership satisfaction survey.  This will be a short survey sent out to our members to help ensure that members are receiving value for their membership.  If you have suggestions for areas we can improve, please let us know on this survey.  Suggestions for areas you would like to see as training event in the future is greatly appreciated.

As the board members transition for the 2020-2021 year, we will continue to strive to add value to all our members! Just a reminder, members receive an additional discount, which really pays for itself. If you are not already a member, I would like to invite you to join. Professionals helping professionals and working towards continuous improvement, that is what we are all about. Together we can do great things!

Stay healthy and safe,

Jamie
