Kicking Off the New Program Year
A note from our President

Hello DC Chapter Members,
My first day as your new chapter president has begun on July 1, 2025! I am grateful for all the support and trust you are putting in me this year. It will be no easy feat, but I have an amazing board and team of volunteers to support me in making sure this is a great year for our members.
As we begin this program year, we’re excited to continue building a strong, inclusive, and engaged community of government accountability professionals. This year, the AGA DC Chapter is placing a renewed focus on membership—strengthening our foundation and expanding our reach. In response to the evolving federal landscape and recent workforce shifts, our Membership Committee is launching a strategic refresh of our initiatives.
We are committed to:
- Connecting new members with valuable Chapter offerings, including networking events and CGFM certification resources.
- Expanding our outreach to include professionals from state and local governments, broadening our community and impact.
- Enhancing member retention through personalized engagement—welcome emails, event incentives, and tailored resources.
- Boosting participation with exciting new programs, including monthly new member raffles at luncheons and quarterly referral prizes for our most active ambassadors.
Invite a Friend, Win $100! We encourage all members to refer friends, coworkers, and colleagues to join AGA. When your referral signs up as a new member (pro-rated starting in August), they can enter your name in the referral field. Each referral gives you a chance to win a $100 prize in our quarterly drawing!
Your goals for this year are ambitious yet achievable:
- Increase overall membership by 10%
- Grow our Young Professional and Student membership by 10%
- Retain 98% of our current members
If you have ideas on how we can achieve these goals, we would love to hear them! Please reach out to Giovanni Leon (giovannileon@KPMG.com) or me (cwolf@akela-llc.com) with any suggestions or questions regarding membership.
With your continued support and enthusiasm, we are confident that the 2025–2026 year will be one of growth, connection, and shared success.
