While articles related to these themes are encouraged, we also accept high-quality, well-researched submissions on a wide range of government financial topics. Articles offering practical insights into government financial management are particularly valued.

How can the private sector assist public servants in delivering high-impact services to citizens and communicating those results?

Spring 2027: The Benefits of Collaboration.
Collaboration is essential to success in any profession, but it is especially vital for public servants. How do public sector professionals collaborate across disciplines such as program management, accounting, financial operations and financial systems to achieve synergies and improve outcomes? Are there examples of when public sector practices and academia have effectively bridged the gap between theory and practice? What related techniques or approaches have improved efficiency across agencies and all levels of government?

Summer 2027: Building Resilient Finance — Preparing Today for Tomorrow’s Uncertainty.
Government finance professionals are operating in an environment defined by constant change and increasing complexity. From economic volatility and public health emergencies to emerging technology and workplace shifts, the ability to anticipate and adapt has become a core competency rather than a contingency plan. How can organizations strengthen resilience to not just withstand disruption, but emerge stronger from it? What practical strategies, lessons learned and forward-thinking approaches can support finance professionals in building agile systems, informed processes and sustainable capacity for the future?

How to Write for the Journal
To ensure your article is considered, please follow these submission requirements:
- Word Limit: Articles should not exceed 2,500 words.
- Originality: Submissions must be original and unpublished work.
- Formatting: Use endnotes rather than footnotes for citations.
- Abstract and Bio: Include a concise abstract (50 words or fewer) and brief author biographies.
- Charts and Graphs: When applicable, include up to four charts or graphs submitted as raw data.
- Sidebars: Provide concise sidebars when applicable.
Journal Article Submission Details
All submissions must:
- Provide practical insights into government financial management.
- Be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
The Editorial Board particularly encourages submissions from practitioners. Articles not aligned with the current themes but offering valuable perspectives are also welcome.
