Young Professionals Focus Group (YPFG)

The Young Professionals Focus Group (YPFG) brings together passionate and aspiring YP leaders, appealing to the next generation of future leaders to start early in their careers to develop meaningful relationships and make an early impact in furthering excellence in government financial management.

YPFG members have an opportunity to engage at AGA’s local level and national levels, participating in AGA chapters, and contributing their aspirations and ideas to expand the impact of AGA. Young professionals can also provide input to AGA staff, boards/committees, and chapters. Input from the YPFG will also be used to strategically design and/or revise AGA’s overall future YP outreach and engagement activities. The YPFG’s efforts to establish strong YP involvement will organically translate to increased student engagement through YP involvement in AGA student activities.

Structure

The YPFG leadership consists of the chair, vice chair and AGA’s Program Coordinator. Both chairs serve one-year terms, with the ability to be reappointed to serve additional terms in those capacities. AGA’s Student & Young Professional Programs Coordinator administers the affairs and management of the YPFG.

Focus Group members will represent the diversity of AGA’s membership and are appointed to serve one-year terms and may be reappointed for additional terms.

The YPFG plans to meet virtually each month, however, as the group progresses, group members may decide to connect on a more frequent basis.
