Carol-Ann Boothe
AGA Montgomery/P.G. Chapter (MPGC) is pleased to nominate Carol-Ann Boothe for volunteer of the year. Carol is AGA MPGC's Education Director and is an exemplary AGA member and leader. Our chapter is known for our excellent CPE-eligible educational events - both virtual and in-person. This spring, MPGC held its popular Spring Workshop in-person for the first time since the pandemic. The event was very well attended and received excellent reviews by participants. Our education team consistently uses a creative approach to attract wider audiences. This spring, AGA MPGC partnered with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and The Universities of Shady Grove (USG) for the event. (We often collaborate with other AGA Chapters for our CPE events too.) The partnership with USG allowed local students to interact with and learn alongside AGA members for the first time. Considering AGA's emphasis on Young Professionals, this sort of collaboration is necessary. We look forward to continuing to engage students and future leaders in the industry.
Carol has had a tremendous impact on our chapter. Running virtual and in-person meetings is no small task. Consider the challenge of putting together monthly NASBA-certified CPE sessions, contacting speakers for new and exciting CGFM-relevant topics to present, and engaging our membership, board, and sponsors to participate and get the word out. This is a team-effort, with Carol often serving the role of fearless leader and vocal advocate. She encourages and enables other board members to take on new and challenging assignments and has a very high standard for our teams. The respect she commands for our educational events is infectious and paid forward by all who participate. However, Carol is also very quick to give credit to everyone who pitches in. Thank you Carol for all that you do for our chapter, and AGA!
