AGA’s national awards celebrate excellence across the government financial management community, honoring leadership, innovation, service, and lifetime contributions that help strengthen transparency and advance the profession.
National Leadership Awards recognize exceptional public servants whose vision, dedication, and leadership strengthen government accountability, transparency, and performance. Awards are presented in February at the National Leadership Training.
Awards of Distinction celebrate members and organizations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to excellence, innovation, and outstanding service in advancing government financial management and AGA’s mission. The Awards of Distinction are presented in July at Professional Development Training, in addition to other awards selected by committees.
Academic Scholarships
AGA’s academic scholarships provide financial assistance to students studying government finance, accounting, and related fields, encouraging educational excellence and the development of future public sector leaders.

CEAR
Certificate of Excellence in Accountability Reporting (CEAR)® – Recognizing and advancing excellence in federal agency reporting through expert reviews, constructive feedback, and a commitment to transparency and accountability.
Agencies & Preparers
All federal agencies are encouraged to demonstrate their commitment to reporting excellence by participating in the CEAR program, regardless of statutory requirements to produce a PAR or AFR.
Become a Reviewer
If you have expertise in federal financial management, performance measurement, and the reporting of results—as well as a solid understanding of federal operations and AFR/PAR content—you could serve as a CEAR reviewer.
