The Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) is a professional certification recognizing the unique skills
required of today’s government financial managers. There are three comprehensive examinations that make up
the core requirement of the CGFM program: Government Environment; Governmental Accounting, Financial
Reporting and Budgeting; and Government Financial Management and Control.
SCHOLARSHIP TYPE AND ELIGIBILITY:
The Central Arkansas AGA Chapter is pleased to offer TWO $240 CGFM scholarships to go towards examination fees and preparation materials. The scholarship will cover approximately half the cost of the CGFM application and examination fees. A maximum of two CGFM scholarships will be awarded each fiscal year.
DEADLINE:
Scholarships will be awarded to the first two qualified and complete applications received. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications must be received no later than May 31.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active Central Arkansas AGA member in good standing
- Must be employed as a governmental accountant
- Must pass all three parts of the exam prior to application submission
- The third and final exam must be passed within this fiscal year
- The exam and application test fees must be incurred and paid by the applicant.
AWARDS:
Selected winners will be notified via email and presented with the check at the annual Central Arkansas AGA awards banquet in June.
